Our Team

The Masikhule team is made up of professionals who share the same vision for the upliftment of women and children in the community. It receives support and input from legal professionals, medical professionals, an occupational therapist, community health personnel, nutritionists and education professionals.

Léanne Keet



After qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 1988 with a special interest and experience in Early Child Development, Léanne began offering group sessions to parents of young children on the essence and importance of early stimulation to encourage the holistic development of their babies and toddlers.  In 2005 Léanne initiated Masikhule (Childcare) as a means to meet these needs and in 2006 Masikhule (Childcare) was registered as an NPO and PBO.  Léanne received the “Phakamisa” PPS/Personal Finance Woman of the Year award in 2012.

Karen Bufé

ECD facilitator and community ECD mentor


Karen is a qualified staff nurse busy studying towards a degree in Early Child Development through UNISA. Karen is one of Masikhule’s Basic and Advanced Course facilitators and as Project Manager she mentors our township ECD centres.

Coreen Vlok

ECD facilitator and mentor


Although a qualified radiographer, Coreen has a great deal of experience working with street children and community-based projects. Coreen is our Basic ECD Course facilitator and ECD mentor, working mainly at the township centers.


Sandy Immelman

Marketing and Communications


Sandy has had many years of experience in the advertising industry. She has a B.Soc.Sci in Psychology as well as a number of management qualifications. Her passion for CSI led her to leave the corporate world to offer her marketing, production and communication skills to organisations that are contributing to their community and are passionate about making a difference. Sandy also facilitates our Business Management Course.


Lulama (Lulu) Ntulini

Early Learning Resource Library Project Manager and ECD Mentor


Lulama Ntulini (Lulu) attended the Basic and Advanced ECD with Masikhule in 2013 and this, in her words, “laid the foundation for my future in ECD”.  She has accumulated a wealth of knowledge, skills and insight through various training opportunities and working in the ECD sector. Lulu plays an integral role in ensuring the successful running of our Early Learning Resource Library and mentors several Early Learning Centres.

Elsa de Jong


ECD facilitator and mentor


Else is a qualified Junior Primary School teacher. She is passionate about teaching and improving the education that young children receive in our communities. She is one of our ECD mentors, working mainly in the Winelands and township centers.


Jeanine Andro


ECD facilitator, mentor and Project Manager


Jeanine is a qualified teacher with experience in teaching, project management and product development.  She is actively involved with training and mentoring, and she currently manages the operation and development of the Teachers' Early Learning Resource Library.
